Abraham Heschel
Polish-American Jewish theologian whose God in Search of Man and The Prophets redefined modern Jewish thought. He marched with Martin Luther King Jr. at Selma, saying he felt his legs were praying. His concept of divine pathos argued that God is not unmoved but passionate about human suffering.
