Aeschylus of Athens

The earliest of the great Greek tragedians, Aeschylus transformed theater by adding a second actor and emphasizing moral and cosmic themes. His Oresteia trilogy remains the only complete surviving Greek trilogy. He is credited with inventing tragedy as a dramatic form.
