Alain Badiou
French philosopher whose Being and Event reconstructed ontology using set theory and whose Ethics proposed an alternative to rights-based liberalism. He is one of the most ambitious systematic philosophers of his generation. His Maoist political commitments have remained consistent throughout his career.
