Albert Einstein
German-American physicist who developed the special and general theories of relativity, transforming physics and our understanding of space, time, gravity, and the universe. His 1905 papers on Brownian motion, the photoelectric effect, and special relativity are among the most important scientific documents in history. He won the Nobel Prize in 1921.
