Alfred North Whitehead
British mathematician and philosopher who co-wrote Principia Mathematica with Russell and later developed process philosophy—the view that reality is constituted by events rather than substances. Process and Reality is his major metaphysical work. He taught at Harvard in his 70s and founded process theology.
