Angela Makholwa is a South African crime writer whose Red Ink and other novels introduced South African crime fiction to an international readership. She writes of crime, ambition, and social pressure in post-Apartheid Johannesburg with dark humor and sharp observation. She is considered a pioneer of South African crime fiction.
