Anthony Powell
Powell was the author of A Dance to the Music of Time, a twelve-volume sequence of novels that constitute the most sustained and architecturally ambitious British novel of the twentieth century. His ironic, detached narrator Nick Jenkins observes the passage of English upper-class life across half a century.
