Audre Lorde
African American poet and feminist theorist whose Zami: A Biomythography, Sister Outsider, and The Cancer Journals addressed the intersecting oppressions of race, gender, and sexuality with fierce clarity. Her essays articulated the concept of the erotic as a source of power. She described herself as 'Black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet.'
