Avicenna Ibn Sina
Persian philosopher and physician whose Canon of Medicine was the standard medical textbook in Europe and the Islamic world for centuries. His philosophical system synthesized Aristotle with Neoplatonism in ways that influenced scholastic philosophy. He is called the Prince of Physicians.
