Charles McCarry
Charles McCarry was a former CIA officer who wrote the most intellectually serious and literarily distinguished American spy novels since le Carré. His Paul Christopher series mapped Cold War ideology and tradecraft with insider knowledge and elegant prose. The Tears of Autumn, which proposed a CIA motive for the Kennedy assassination, is considered a masterpiece of espionage fiction.
