Charlotte M. Yonge
Yonge was the most important Victorian writer of religious domestic fiction, whose The Heir of Redclyffe was a sensation of the 1850s and whose vast output shaped the moral imagination of generations of Victorian women. The Daisy Chain is her most sustained achievement.
