Clifford D. Simak was an American science fiction author celebrated for his pastoral, humanist vision of the future. City is his masterpiece, a linked series of stories tracing the decline of humanity and the rise of dog civilization over thousands of years. He won three Hugo Awards and was named Grand Master by SFWA.
