Clive Barker is a visionary horror writer, playwright, and filmmaker who transformed the genre with lush, transgressive fiction that married extreme violence with genuine literary ambition. The Books of Blood established him as a major new voice in horror, and Weaveworld and Imajica demonstrated his gifts as a mythopoeic fantasist. He created the Hellraiser franchise from his novella The Hellbound Heart.
