David Ignatius is a Washington Post columnist and novelist whose CIA thrillers draw on decades of access to the American intelligence community. His novels are among the most procedurally authentic in the genre, and his insider knowledge of the CIA gives them a verisimilitude rare in spy fiction. He has been praised by le Carré as one of the best writers in the genre.
