David Packard co-founded Hewlett-Packard with Bill Hewlett in 1939 in a Palo Alto garage, a moment widely considered the birth of Silicon Valley. He served as HP's president, CEO, and chairman, and also served as U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense. His book The HP Way became a foundational text on corporate culture and management.
