Dreda Say Mitchell is a British crime writer of Grenadian heritage whose East London-based crime novels brought underrepresented voices and settings to British crime fiction. Her Gangland trilogy featured female protagonists navigating a violent East London milieu with moral complexity. She co-wrote with Ryan Carter as Dreda Say Mitchell.
