E.L. Doctorow
E.L. Doctorow was a major American historical novelist who blended fact and fiction in Ragtime and other novels to illuminate the hidden workings of American power and the lives of the dispossessed. He won the National Book Award, PEN/Faulkner, and other major prizes.
