Ellis Peters
Ellis Peters was the pen name of Edith Pargeter, a British author whose medieval monk detective Brother Cadfael is one of the most beloved characters in historical crime fiction. Set in 12th-century Shrewsbury, the Cadfael novels combined genuine medieval historical research with compelling mystery plots. The television adaptations with Derek Jacobi were equally successful.
