Elton Mayo

Elton Mayo was an Australian psychologist whose Hawthorne Studies at the Western Electric plant in the 1920s and 1930s revealed that social factors significantly influence worker productivity, founding the human relations movement in management. His work challenged the mechanistic view of workers as mere economic units.
