About the author

Euripides of Athens

The most psychologically modern of the Greek tragedians, Euripides depicted flawed, emotionally complex characters in situations of intense moral ambiguity. His work influenced later drama more than any other ancient playwright. He wrote approximately 92 plays, of which 18 survive.
