Evan Winter is a South African author whose The Rage of Dragons draws on sub-Saharan African history to tell the story of a young man in an African-inspired fantasy world obsessed with revenge. The novel was originally self-published and attracted a massive audience before being picked up by Orbit. It won the Nommo Award for Best Speculative Fiction by an African.
