Griselda Gambaro

Argentina's most important 20th-century playwright, Gambaro developed a theater of grotesque violence and black humor to represent the brutality of Argentine political life. The Camp (El campo) and Información para extranjeros (Information for Foreigners) are her most disturbing works. Her plays were banned during the military dictatorship.
