Laurell K. Hamilton is an American author whose Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series was one of the defining works of paranormal romance and urban fantasy fiction. Her protagonist, a necromancer who raises zombies and hunts vampires for the St. Louis police, was enormously popular and influenced a generation of paranormal fiction writers.
