Heiner Müller
East Germany's most radical playwright, Müller deconstructed classical texts and Marxist history into jagged, fragmented theatrical collages. Hamletmachine reduced Hamlet to nine pages of apocalyptic prose poetry. His influence on postdramatic theater has been immense.
