Hélène Cixous
Algerian-French feminist theorist and writer whose 'The Laugh of the Medusa' called for women to write their bodies and reclaim feminine jouissance from patriarchal discourse. The Newly Born Woman, co-written with Catherine Clément, is her major theoretical work. She is associated with l'écriture féminine.
