Hunter S. Thompson
American journalist who invented Gonzo journalism, in which the reporter becomes the subject of the story. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is equal parts drug memoir, political satire, and elegy for the American Dream. He shot himself at 67 as his health declined.
