Jim Thompson
Jim Thompson was a pulp fiction writer whose nihilistic crime novels plumbed the darkest depths of American psychopathology. The Killer Inside Me and Pop. 1280 feature first-person narrators of almost incomprehensible moral depravity. Rediscovered in the 1980s, his work has been recognized as among the most harrowing in American crime fiction.
