Karin Fossum is a Norwegian crime writer whose Inspector Konrad Sejer series is among the most literary and psychologically subtle in Nordic crime fiction. Her novels often focus as much on the perpetrator as the investigation, exploring the psychology of violence with compassion and insight. She has been called the Norwegian Ruth Rendell.
