Kathe Koja is an American author who writes contemporary literary fiction and Gothic horror. Her early horror novels for Dell Abyss, including The Cipher and Bad Brains, were acclaimed for their literary sensibility and their exploration of artistic obsession as a form of madness. She received multiple Bram Stoker and International Horror Guild Awards.
