Kim Harrison is the pen name of American author Dawn Cook, whose Hollows series set in a post-plague Cincinnati where supernatural creatures live openly alongside humans became one of the most popular urban fantasy series of the 2000s. The series ran to thirteen novels. She also writes YA fantasy.
