L. Ron Hubbard
L. Ron Hubbard was an American pulp fiction author who wrote extensive science fiction and fantasy before founding Scientology. Battlefield Earth is his longest novel. His early pulp SF and fantasy stories were popular in their time. He also founded the Writers of the Future contest, which continues to launch careers.
