Ludwig Wittgenstein
Austrian-British philosopher who produced two completely different and enormously influential philosophies in one career. The early Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus argued that language pictures the world; the late Philosophical Investigations argued that meaning is use. Both works transformed 20th-century analytic philosophy.
