Mark Billingham is a British crime writer and comedian whose DI Tom Thorne series, set in gritty North London, is one of the most popular contemporary British police procedurals. His novels are notable for their dark humor, psychological insight, and authentic London atmosphere. He received the Theakston's Crime Novel of the Year Award.
