Marsha Norman
American playwright best known for 'night, Mother, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1983 for its harrowing two-character study of a woman planning her own suicide. She has also written libretti for musicals including The Secret Garden. Her work is notable for its emotional directness and formal economy.
