Max Stirner
German philosopher whose The Ego and Its Own is the most radical individualist manifesto in the Western tradition, attacking not just the state but all moral, religious, and social abstractions as 'spooks' imprisoning the individual. He was criticized by Marx; admired by Nietzsche and the anarchists.
