EnglishDecember 16, 1899 – March 26, 1973Comic Fiction

Noel Coward was primarily a playwright but wrote several successful thrillers and spy novels including the acclaimed novel Pomp and Circumstance. His spy short stories, collected in To Step Aside, demonstrate his sardonic wit applied to the espionage genre. His theatrical experience gave his fiction an unusual polish and timing.
