Patricia Highsmith
Patricia Highsmith created some of the most unsettling psychological thrillers of the 20th century, most notably the Ripley series featuring an amoral American expatriate in Europe. Her work blurred the line between criminal and reader, generating uncomfortable empathy. She received the Grand Prix de Littérature Policière and remained a cult figure among literary readers.
