Paul Hawken is an environmentalist, entrepreneur, and author who has spent decades arguing that ecology and commerce must be reconciled. His book The Ecology of Commerce, first published in 1993, helped inspire a generation of sustainability-minded business leaders including Yvon Chouinard.
