Rodman Philbrick is an American author whose Freak the Mighty, about the friendship between a physically disabled boy and a learning-disabled giant, became a classic of middle-grade fiction and was adapted into a film. His Newbery Honor novel The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg followed.
