Sol Price founded FedMart in 1954 and later Price Club, the original warehouse membership retailer, which pioneered the wholesale club model that Sam Walton later adopted at Costco and BJ's. He was considered the "retail rabbi" and was a direct mentor to Jim Sinegal, the founder of Costco.
