Vonda McIntyre was an American science fiction author who won Hugo and Nebula Awards for her novel Dreamsnake, a post-apocalyptic story with a female healer protagonist. She was an important figure in feminist science fiction of the 1970s. She also wrote the novelizations of several Star Trek films.
