Walter Mosley
Walter Mosley created Easy Rawlins, one of crime fiction's most important and politically resonant protagonists, an African-American PI navigating racism in postwar Los Angeles. His novels illuminate Black experience in America while delivering compelling detective fiction. He is also a celebrated essayist and playwright, and has received the Mystery Writers of America Grand Master Award.
