Denise Mina is a Scottish crime writer whose work engages with the political and social realities of Glasgow with unflinching honesty. Her Paddy Meehan series, about a female journalist in 1980s Glasgow, is particularly celebrated for its historical authenticity. Her graphic novel adaptations of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo were acclaimed.
