Edgar Allan Poe
Edgar Allan Poe was an American author and poet whose horror and mystery fiction laid the groundwork for much of science fiction, horror, and detective fiction. His stories of premature burial, strange science, and cosmic imagination anticipated H.P. Lovecraft and countless successors. The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym is a proto-SF adventure novel.
