Håkan Nesser
Håkan Nesser is a Swedish crime writer whose Inspector Van Veeteren series, set in a fictional northern European country, is one of the most literarily distinguished in the Scandi noir tradition. His detective novels have a philosophical, melancholy quality that elevates them beyond genre. He has also written the Barbarotti series set in Sweden.
