Jacqueline Winspear is a British-American writer whose Maisie Dobbs series, featuring a psychologist-investigator in 1930s England dealing with WWI trauma, is one of the finest historical crime series currently being published. Her novels combine period mystery with serious literary treatment of grief and social change. The series has won multiple Agatha and Macavity Awards.
