James D. Doss
James D. Doss was an American crime writer whose Charlie Moon series featured a Southern Ute tribal police officer and his Anglo police chief partner investigating crimes in Colorado. His novels combined Native American spirituality and folklore with crime fiction in the tradition of Tony Hillerman. He was praised for his authentic portrayal of Ute culture.
