Tony Hillerman
Tony Hillerman was the preeminent crime writer of the American Southwest, setting his Navajo Tribal Police procedurals amid the landscapes and cultures of the Four Corners region. His detectives Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee were among the first major Native American protagonists in mainstream crime fiction. He received the Mystery Writers of America Grand Master Award.
