John Wyndham
John Wyndham was a British science fiction author best known for The Day of the Triffids and The Midwich Cuckoos, archetypal cozy catastrophe novels in which ordinary English life is disrupted by alien threats. His work is characterized by middle-class calm in the face of extraordinary disruption. The Chrysalids is his most ambitious and philosophically rich novel.
