Mike Phillips

Mike Phillips is a British crime writer and journalist of Guyanese heritage whose Sam Dean series featured a Black British journalist investigating crimes in Thatcher's Britain. His novels were notable for their portrayal of race and class in contemporary Britain. He received the Crime Writers' Association Gold Dagger for The Late Candidate.
